Smartspace II Satellite Show @ Root Division

       Smartspace II is the satellite show of Smartspace @ San Francisco State University Fine Arts Gallery. Smartspace is an exhibition exploring art, science and technology in honor of Professor, Author and Director of Conceptual Information Arts department at SFSU, Stephen Wilson. The Satellite show will exhibit work from Graduate and undergrad artists' from the CIA department to show the legacy of Steve's teaching.


       The name Smartspace came from Stephen Wilson's conceptual artwork about "smart rooms" which use long range RFID tags to identify individual persons and these rooms projects information and images that are important to that specific character. (http://userwww.sfsu.edu/~swilson/)


Smartspace II will be held at Root Division, an organization of Bay Area artists working for a livable existence in an arts and arts education community.




Important Dates:
Early Submission Deadline (To have your name on the postcard): Friday, February 10th 2012

Final Submission Deadline: Friday, February 17th 2012

Exhibition Dates: Friday, March 2nd 2012 until Saturday, March 3rd 2012  at 6PM
Installation Date:  February 27th to 29th of February


Checklist
In order to be in the show, you must:
  • Have taken a class in the CIA department, or have been influenced by Stephen Wilson
  • Fill out application form @ www.smartspaceii.blogspot.com  by Friday, February 10th 2012
  • Send up to 2 images of what you are going to show to smartspaceimage@gmail.com by  Friday, February 10th 2012
  • And be happy
